Needle Felting Supplies
What you need to needle felt: Needles, Foam and Roving. (And your sweater or wool object to mend or adorn.)
Needles: Speciality needles for needle felting. They are barbed so you cannot use any 'ol needle.
Foam: A must-have to stab your needles into. It provides a supportive and protective surface for your wool fibers, absorbing the force of the needle to prevent damage to both the needles and your work surface, like a table. It allows the barbed needles to effectively tangle and mesh the wool fibers, creating the desired density and shape in your felted creation.
Roving: The material you will use to mend or adorn your project. Roving is long, rope-like bundle of fibers (usually wool) that has been carded and combed. This is what is used to create yarn, and also used in needle felting!
Needle Kits
​Do I hate buying from Amazon? Yes, but I have not found any local suppliers. While you will only use 1-3 needles at a time, it is good to have several on hand as they can break if used with too much force or at the wrong angle.
This kit has everything you need save the foam and roving.

This includes 5 pieces of foam so you can share or cut some which are small to fit in sleeves and or socks.
