Mending & Adorning
Have a favorite sweater, pair of jeans or flannel shirt you want to save?
Want to make that item of clothing one of a kind to reflect you!
Congratulations - you have come to the right place.
I can teach you to mend & adorn or I can do the mending for you.

Needle Felting
While typically needle felting is known for making objects, I use this method to mend sweaters, coats, socks, hats, scarfs; anything made of wool, cashmere or a wool blend.
In workshop you'll learn to mend those holes and also add your own signature look. You decide if you want your repair to be invisible or be seen!
Best for: Small holes or surface decoration on wool or wool-blend items — think sweaters, scarves, socks, or mittens.

Sashiko
Discover the beauty and intention behind sashiko, the traditional Japanese art of visible mending. In this hands-on, mindful workshop, you’ll learn how to repair, reinforce, and embellish clothing using elegant geometric stitches that are both functional and decorative.

This is a creative & functional workshop where you will use sashiko thread, needles, and simple stitching patterns to patch, strengthen, and decorate your clothing with timeless designs.

Best for: Mending or embellishing denim, cotton, linen, or other natural-fiber garments — think jeans, jackets, shirts, aprons, or tote bags.

Rear-End Repairs
Split your pants? Noticed thinning from inner-thigh wear or a classic “butt blowout”? This practical, confidence-boosting class focuses on reinforcing the high-traffic areas of your pants so you can wear them comfortably (and safely) again.

In this workshop you'll learn how to discreetly mend and strengthen crotch seams, inner thighs, and rear panels using durable patching and reinforcing stitches on a sewing machine. Instead of retiring well-loved pants, you’ll restore them with smart techniques that prevent future wear and extend their life.

Best for: Crotch holes, inner-thigh thinning, rear splits, and worn areas in denim, cotton, linen, and other sturdy pant fabrics.

Reverse Appliqué
Give old favorites a fresh story with hand-stitched appliqué. In this creative, hands-on workshop, you’ll design and sew beautiful fabric patches to cover stains, mend tears, hide logos, or simply add personality to your clothes.
Appliqué is wonderfully versatile and beginner-friendly. Using simple stitches and thoughtfully chosen fabrics, you’ll learn how to place, secure, and decorate patches that are both durable and expressive. Whether you’re reviving a well-worn piece or customizing something plain, this workshop helps you turn everyday garments into one-of-a-kind wearables.
Best for: Covering stains or logos, repairing tears, and adding bold or subtle design to medium-weight garments — think sweatshirts, sweatpants, canvas jackets, pants, shirts, and bags.

Learn how to fix holes and add flair to your clothes using the Speedweve-style mini loom! Whether you're patching jeans, socks, or adding pizzazz to a plain tee — this hands-on workshop makes it easy & fun.

Best for: Small holes (up to 1”) in woven, jersey, or knit fabrics — think shirts, socks, & pants

Embroidery
I teach a variety of embroidery workshops:
Embroidery Samplers - learning several stitches on one canvas to learn and display skills. (see Dropcloth Samplers for examples.)
Embellishing clothing - either using existing motifs in clothing patterns or adding your own, adding embroidery to clothing, bags, and more are great ways to add your own personal touch to a garment or cover a stain or small hole.
Outline embroidery - using a stencil - outlining a shape in a simple stem, back, chain or whipped stitches to make your shape come to life. Also great class to learn lettering techniques.
